SEO Blog “category” pages not very relevant for SEO
I am improving the SEO of the site. I have created internal linking, placed many alt, title, meta description tags that did not exist. But I notice after analysis that I have many pages that have a text ratio that is much too low and I see that these are mainly the “Categories” pages of the blog.
These pages are not relevant in terms of SEO. What can I do to improve them or should I deindex them?

One way to improve category pages is to add more content to them. For example, add a short intro at the top of the page that explains what the category is about.

I’ve had better luck turning thin category pages into small hubs by adding a short intro (even 40–60 words) that explains what people can find there, plus a few internal links to key posts. If the pages still pull in no traffic, I just noindex them and move on. I’ve seen ideas from a marketing agency that used the same mix of short intros and smart linking to lift similar pages.
